Exhausted and Exhilarated

Well, the last week has been jam packed!  David has been here from Oregon so I have been trying to get all my regular life stuff in order and taken care of so there is time to do special things while he is here. Then today there was the Flag Retiremnt Ceremony that our 4-H club hosted.  Now feel like I can take a breath--but only one ! because there is a ton more stuff to fill up my time coming up!

Sunday, the Warren-area family came over to visit. David and I ended up staying up ALL night talking! Long trips don memory lane about houses we lived in, people we knew, things that happened in our family, how we got saved, where we were baptized. It was fabulous!

Unfortunately, it was the night before our planned trip to Latrobe to visit cousin Phyllis. Thankfully, I was not needed to drive. Also, Becky was here in Ohio to attend her grandmother's funeral. We have not seen her since she and Sam moved to Colorado when he was still in the Army--about 9 years.  In order to see her , we had to cut the Latrobe short, so it was a flying trip.

I was (and surely David also) extremely tired by Monday night. We had to leave about 4 am to make his flight at the airport, which we did. I certainly needed a good night's sleep because I actually got a ticket on my way back home! I purposely did not take the expressway because of being so tired, and it wasn't precaution enough.

I was able to rest when I got home. Then I through myself into my office hours, lesson plans, and final preparations for the 4-H event.

The Flag Ceremony ended up being quite an ordeal since my most dedicated parents were unable to attend and help.  There was a huge amount of preparation that I had to do all by myself and there were several things that just didn't happen at all because it was simply impossible to do. Many of the things that I did do were done far below excellence because I was just stretched too thin. It was our first attempt at anything like this, however, and I'm pleased with the end result. Most of the flaws were probably unnoticeable or acceptable to those watching anyway.

Now I am decompressing, and resting for the next batch of activities ahead!
