Thoughts on Sanctity of Human Life, Part 1

Sunday was sanctity of human life Sunday.  I had planned on doing a presentation at church. We decided  to do a focus on life on a different Sunday but I wanted to share my plans now.
I picked out a video to play and I had some thoughts to share. I want the congregation to reconsider how we use terminology. We say,
"I'm going to be a mother."
"She is expecting a child."
"A baby is on the way."

If we are true to the fact that conception begins a life, then
She already is a mother.
She has a child.
The baby has arrived.

She might have held her baby inside for her first mother's day as a mom.
She may be expecting to hold her child in her arms instead of her belly.
Baby's first Christmas might have been spent in the womb.

So when you hear someone is pregnant, say,
"I'm an uncle!"
"I'm a grandma!"
"Congratulations on being a father!"
"Wow, you're a mother now!"
