I really do not understand headlights in this day and age.
Everyone knows you need headlights when it's not broad daylight to drive a car so you can see where you're going. But I don't understand why headlights need headlights. All the new cars seem to have lights over the headlights, lights beside the headlights, lights under the headlights, lights around the headlights, lights between the headlights! It's all very confusing. You never know what you're looking at when you're driving down the road and it makes it more unsafe for drivers.
Plus they are mostly all these LED ones now that are so super bright. And headlights aren't the only thing that is no longer standard. The turn signal and brake lights are often random and distracting as well. Blinkers that point or run to the side. Brake lights that strobe.
I don't see these things as adding anything to the driving arena. In fact I'm proposing that they are detracting from safety. People may want to be know for the new fad lighting or being different or up to date, but it's to their own detriment and that of all of us on the roads.
