Welcome to West Virginia -- first bridge into Ohio.
There are 2 rows of trees, one the height of the light poles and one behind it higher than the poles. The Ohio River flows between them. So the farther trees are in Ohio.
A neighbor who talked with us.
Aunt Martha's garage.
Other neighbor's garage.
Walking to the river.
Hello Ohio, we'll be back over there soon.
No one answered the door. Darlene showed where Uncle Joe built in the porch from just pilings at that time. Aunt Cookie showed where the duplex apartment was.
It started raining in earnest, so we holed up in the garage -- and discovered a record of the flood levels over the years! The 1972 one would be the one the boys played in!
Then we headed to Oglebay.
Locally made ice cream. Yum.
I missed the tunnel the first time because I was in the backseat with Wesley and Aunt Cookie had decided spur of the moment to go that way so we were concentrating on not losing our way. ๐
Here's the house they lived in. No one seemed home. Behind is an alley where the garages and parking were. Very narrow. Almost too narrow to turn past the church on the corner.
After this, stopped at Wendy's for lunch, potty, and hot water for Wesley's bottle, and headed home.
