Book of the Month: Dinny Gordon

Dinny Gordon by Anne Emory

I am going to review this entire series at one time.  These books are set in the 50's outside Chicago, a time when it was still an up and coming city.  Times were more proper, when a girl didn't go out for a nice evening without a hat and gloves.  They show small-town life and coming of age through the eyes and experiences of a girl from the first day of high school in Dinny Gordon: Freshman to ready to head off to college in Dinny Gordon: Senior.

Throughout the four books, Dinny learns, questions herself, tries new things, makes mistakes, falls in love, sets goals, makes and loses friends, and discovers a passion for an obscure subject.  I love the historical setting, but although times have changed--people haven't!
