Throwback Marathon

There was a marathon on TLC of the old show "What Not to Wear."  I've watched several of them over the past couple of weeks and there really is a lot of good points that are helpful in dressing.  And the way a person dresses has a lot of ramifications on who you are as a person.

Some of the concepts that are repeated are:
style is all about smoke and mirrors--using the features of clothing to create what you want people to
see when they look at you
let the clothes do the work for you
confidence makes you look good
dressing the body you have right now
try lots of things on
if it doesn't look good, it's the clothes' fault not yours
every time you leave your house, you are dressing for an "event"
wear things that make you feel good
clothes can be something you hide behind
it takes effort
comfort does not have to be sacrificed for your other goals
when you feel good about how you look, it shines through
v neck elongates the neck--makes you look thinner
defined waist emphasizes the narrowest part of you
tapered-leg pants make hips appear wider
pointed toes on shoes make legs look longer
loose baggy clothes make you look bigger
it's good to periodically step out of your comfort zone
everyone's life evolves
buy clothing that fits the biggest part of you and tailor down as needed
let the clothes make the shape for you
