Normally my club would be all up in this, but when I saw that it was scheduled the day after the election, I knew I'd be too busy to actually plan anything, so I just showed up. I actually had an hour to go through some of my 4-H stuff and was able to gather some things to bring. I took my sewing machine and some fabric and started offering a little sewing project to the kids. Wow, did it get busy! Before long, I was helping kids make sweat bands and scrunchies non-stop! I didn't have much time to think but I did ask this one mom to take a picture for me:
They were thrilled to push the pedal themselves to make the machine go and I gave little tips and explained what to do as we went along. Everything had to move at the speed of light because there was a big line! Nothing made tonight would come close to a blue ribbon, but they got to do some of it themselves, and take it home.
I'm exhausted--especially after working the polls yesterday--but my soul is satisfied.
