Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims by Rush Limbaugh
This is the first in a series of children's books written by political talk show host Rush Limbaugh. It's about a horse with unhorselike powers such as invisibility and the ability to transport to any time in U.S. history, and his companion, history teacher Rush Revere.
There has been a tremendous amount of hype about this series of books. I don't understand what is so special about them. They are typical children's reading from my experience and certainly do not present any information that I have not seen dozens of times in the vast amount of homeschool curriculum. Perhaps it is because the mainstream public school materials do not contain the same level of accurate information. Since homeschoolers do represent a smaller percentage of the US population as a whole, maybe that is why they seem to be such a sensation.
If your children attend public school and their school books do not include this information, then yes by all means read these books. But if you have a quality curriculum especially from a Christian perspective these books will only be an extra, certainly not a necessity.
