After church we met Joe & Melissa at that house again. They had David and Kevin come to check out the basement, roof, chimney, etc. The bedrooms are on the small side, but the living space is great. It's more than 200 square feet bigger than the house they have been living in since they got married in 2010. The bathroom is very tight so they wanted to get some ideas from people what it would take to enlarge it a little.
There is water condensing down the chimney which will need sealed as soon as possible and a wall in the basement is beginning to cave in due to roots from the tree on that side of the house. No other significant repairs.
The landscaping is a bit out of control since the owners dad was the last person to live there. It's got lots of trees which will need either everlastingly cleaned up after or a hefty expense to cut them down. At any rate they will definitely need trimmed.
I was expecting to have a few days of family conferences to discuss everything, but Joe & Melissa actually put in an offer today! Now we have to wait and see what the buyer does . . .
