What Have I Been Up To?
December 2nd I went with some friends to the annual performance of Handels Messiah by the Warren Community Chorus accompanied by the
It always moves me and sets off the Christmas season for me.
December 5th I had lunch with my aunt and uncle that I usually only see once a year at our family reunion. My cousin posted that her daughters were selling fresh citrus for a fundraiser. I have been waiting for an opportunity to buy some so even though we live almost an hour apart, I ordered some oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit. We met halfway to make the exchange and grabbed lunch while we had the chance. It was very nice catching up. And the fruit has been delicious!
December 7th, went to Christmas on the Square downtown Warren. My friend's daughter performed with her dance company and many other area organizations were represented such as Warren Harding band, madrigal, and choir. It was totally packed! I didn't see any of us on the news coverage though, bummer.
December 8th, Bryan and I took time out to run up to North Bloomfield for Trains in the Town Hall. They had a model railroad display that filled the entire hall, such as it is! The venue combined with free cookies and hot chocolate, a visiting Santa, town historical mementos, scavenger hunt all made a lovely small town feel that we enjoyed immensely. Bryan is partial to HO scale and since he is quite an officianado, he caught many inconsistencies but he reminded himself it wasn't a professional exhibition! It was a creative and fun celebration for Christmas. Of course, the children made the whole thing! Can't wait to bring our own to things like this.
December 14th, while Bryan was running errands someone hit his vehicle while he was in the building. He's not sure which errand he was doing when it happened which I guess that's proof that the damage is minimal, not interfering with the ability to drive it safely. Thank God for that and for keeping him safe. He will have to replace the bumper and something with the hitch, but he thinks he has all the parts he'll need in storage. No surprise there since he saves everything!
December 15th I helped run a Christmas toy drive with my friend and her kids. So fulfilling to give to the community and to see so many others giving too. Got my tree finished too.
Also saw a Christmas concert, did gift wrapping, and went caroling at the mall, and had Christmas parties for care group, 4-H, secret sisters, and library friends. Still to come are cantatas, more caroling, a church party, and of course Christmas Eve and Day themselves!
