We got a lot of work done over the past several days. We are all ready for the technician to give us an estimate on repairing our hvac.
Then Sunday Bryan did the brakes on Melissa's car and we had supper together. After they left we pulled out the camper and put the utility trailer in its spot. We need to open it up and air it out. We also put the spare car out because he says it needs driven.
He mowed the lawn too but we still have not gotten are plants put into the garden.
Today I ran to the grocery store in the spare car. After Bryan left, I had an errand in Newton Falls so I jumped back in it. I noticed it was running hot but that didn't surprise me since it's over 90 degrees again today.
I figured it would be cooled down by the time I was ready to drive back home.
It was, but as soon as I got a mile down the road, it was right back up to the red again. I stopped and checked and sure enough there is antifreeze in the back of the truck. I put in all there was but it wasn't much. So I turn around back into town because there is nothing ahead of me for about 10 miles. I found a auto parts store in town, got some water, and filled up the reservoir. I couldn't get the lid off the radiator no matter how hard I tried.
I figured I better get home but it was no use because it still was running in the red. Okay now what? Bryan's at work & I'm still eight miles from home. I tried calling him anyway but as I expected he didn't answer.
Who else could help? Nathan knows a lot about older vehicles -- tried him; no answer. I called Joe and we came up with the idea of him actually going to the factory and having Bryan call me.
Sure enough, soon he calls me and together we figure out how to get the radiator cap off. I put in another the rest of the gallon of water then drive carefully 2 more miles down the road to a gas station and get more water. ( I got some for me too!)
Now the temperature starts coming down and I drive safely home. What an adventure.
