Happy Independence Day!

We had a very enjoyable Independence Day.

We went to our family reunion picnic which is always on the 4th of July (unless the 4th of July falls on a Sunday and then it is moved to Monday). This was the 98th reunion! So two more years to our 100th for which we are planning some special additions to our celebration.

It was quite hot about 92° and we had about the same poor turnout as last year--around 40 attendees. Hoping that things start to grow back to the numbers I remember as a kid. We used to have around a hundred but many people have moved away now and it's harder to get back to the area.

Then went to a place we like up on the causeway for ice cream. Yummy and a nice cool down.

After we got home and unloaded everything from the car and put everything away we realized how much the heat and getting up early made us tired. And the air conditioning was irresistible. So we took naps. lol

The closing of the day was fireworks which this year happened right at Packard Music Hall down the street. very nice not to have to travel. We could almost see them from the yard but down the street there was less tree blockage.

Happy birthday, America!
