Where the Rubber Meets the Road
Holiness by Donnie McClurkin
I would dearly love to go with my first choice and quote every word of these amazing lyrics and give full credit to the creator(s), but due to my understanding of copyright laws I feel compelled to choose to quote only the song title and artist.
When the music leader chooses this song as part of our song service on a Sunday morning, my heart instantly responds to it: I raise my arms and I am completely in agreement that this is what I want to do.
In real life though, in actual living, it is much different. It’s more than a feeling in my spirit, a raised hand, a loud voice, a teary face.
Holiness requires me to put aside that activity that I shouldn’t be doing.
Righteousness requires me to swallow that comment that comes to my mouth.
Faithfulness requires that I pick up my Bible instead of a magazine.
Brokenness requires that I let go of my own desires and allow whatever God chooses with joyfulness.
I pray that I –and you– continue to strive for Him to form, mold, transform, conform.
