I made it through election day with antibiotics, pain killers, tissues at the ready, and plenty of hand sanitizer! I doubt if it would have been possible if the turnout had been higher. I had qualms whether I should call off, or call in to let them decide, but decided I would go as much of the day as I felt I could. With few nanny hours this week, I really needed the pay. I actually ended up having no nanny hours at all, so I'm extra glad I ended up being able to work the whole day.
I didn't go to the 4-H meeting at all. I didn't go to Bible study. I only went to the office and back home. It was a miserable week. I couldn't see well and it was difficult to concentrate. I could hardly read or even watch TV. I didn't do any grocery shopping or much housework either, and only bare minimum on cooking.
It wasn't until Thursday late evening that the stye began to drain. I am amazed at how long it has taken to run its course. I still don't feel myself.
I had planned on getting my driver's license renewed Wednesday but put it off so the swelling could go down. That strategy didn't work. I didn't feel right driving with my license expired and I had to drive for work so I had to get it anyway. My picture came out horrible. I also wanted to do the compliant license but didn't have the wherewithal to collect the extra documentation. I'll do that some time when it's convenient though because it might make a difference when Joe and Melissa get their baby.
Tomorrow I go back to watching Abby and will find out more details about the trip to Wisconsin. All I know so far is Missy's job is being eliminated. I don't know how many more weeks of work there will be or how things will be affected.
