Deciding how to remove the tub. Apparently it was installed before or at the same time as the built-in cabinetry. Also there is almost no space at all between the plumbing and the tub. It is impractical enough to move the stink pipe as to be impossible.

We tried lifting, twisting, tipping, rotating, and still couldn't insure to our satisfaction that the plumbing would remain undamaged.
So, we got the sawzall back out!!

Three blades later . . . need another plan.
None of us realized it would break like this!! We would have done this three hours ago!

Relatively easy to carry out now!!

Now to finish taking down the ceiling--the part that was over the tub.
And the rest of the drywall.

The tile and some plaster had mold on it, and some of the wall and floor at the head of the tub were rotted so we pulled everything out until we got solid viable materials.

And clean up AGAIN.
Now we have to use the funky shower in the basement--I already served the eviction and had it out with the monster spider we found living in the drain!!!!
