We spent the day today with Joe and Melissa. We went to Mill Creek Park and saw their Christmas displays at the Davis Center and hiked the outdoor Christmas light path through the rose gardens and gazebo at Fellows Riverside Gardens. It was cool seeing the cityscape after dark from that vantage point and hearing the creek roaring below you without being able to see it.
Then we drove to Vienna looking for that house we saw last year that had its Christmas lights synced up to music but we never found it. Either they didn't do it this year or we can't remember the correct road it was on.
After that we went out to dinner at Bob Evans and talked some more. It was very relaxing. We were able to finalize our plans for Christmas. We found out they won't be closing before Christmas like we thought. That's rather disappointing but actually frees up a little bit of time for us to enjoy the holidays without that additional busyness. Maybe we'll be able to spend part of New Year's Eve at the house.
When I came home I was going to bake the rest of my cookies but now I don't have to so I'll do that later on in the week. Then I sat down in the living room to go through some photos. The tree was on and spinning beautifully on it its new revolving stand when suddenly the lights just went out. I wasn't even touching it. So Bryan and I had to go through the whole tree to find the one string that had blown its fuse. Oh, the joys of Christmas!
