I have been having a lot of issues with my phone. I'm sure you have noticed then I haven't been posting as regularly as usual. It has been super convenient to post from my phone no matter where I am. However it has begun to work slowly and refuse to do certain operations.
Over Thanksgiving break I got a few tips on how to fix that. One idea was that there wasn't enough free memory which can happen when aps clog up the phone. well this is upsetting since I have only downloaded maybe 3 aps since I got the phone two years ago. Apparently most people have to constantly prune back the space taken up by their apps since the aps constantly download their upgrades whether you want them to or not--even ones you don't use.
The remedy for this is to delete apps that are not being used and clear the cache that might have build up on them. I spent considerable time Thanksgiving going through and doing that. Only to find that it also deleted some information that I really had wanted to keep. Many of my icons were missing or changed and all my notes disappeared too!
Boo smart phone!
And it didn't even totally fix the problem. Some operations that I had done regularly up to a year and 10 months ago stop working and clearing the memory has not helped them start working again. It's taken up so much time and not resolved anything.
I'll keep checking on my manufacturer's help pages and my mobile carrier's technical support but I have a suspicion they may be just programmed not to laugh passed the 2-year mark.
