The Birds

So today I had the curtains open to the picture window in my living room while I put up the Christmas tree and as I was straightening the branches on the tree, suddenly a huge flock of birds landed in the neighbor's yard. 

Then without warning, they suddenly all flew up to the wires. 

They did this several times:  settle on the ground, suddenly fly up into the trees or the wires, then swoop onto the lawn again.   It happened so quickly, it was too late to get a picture of them while they were flying.  This is the best I could get:

There were so many it was an incredible sight.
