So I am sitting in my recliner with a glass of ice water and MASH on the DVR. It is always hard for me to wind down on election day after getting up at 5:00 am and getting home at 8:30 pm or so. My normal schedule is more of an afternoon schedule so I have to work up to it. Then it takes a few days to recuperate from it!
This election was very slow especially compared to the presidential one in November. Most precincts only had a few candidates or issues and many were not open at all. That is why the board of elections used this for the first run of using electronic poll books. By the time there is another presidential election, it will be old hat. I think it went very well. Even the elderly poll workers seemed to get the handle on the system with no troubles. Everyone said they liked how easy it was to use and how it did many tasks automatically that we have had to do by hand.
I hate it when I am extremely tired, and yet my mind is racing so I can't sleep! I am having a hard time focusing on typing, but it is helping get things out of my mind, and I am going to try to take a nap now. If I get up when Bryan gets home from work, I'll be pretty much back on my normal schedule.
